Something I learned from the Masterpiece Academy that was interesting was that many people don’t believe in god due to science or family living and teaching them to be atheist. I was kind of shook because I didn’t expect science to sort of teach us about god being a myth.

I am looking forward to learning new things and the excitement of the the person who is teaching us about their masterpiece. For my masterpiece I am nervous because I don’t want to forget parts of my presentation nor get really nervous and turn red.

Last time I took responsibility for a history project I was so nervous. I didn’t know how to demand a group of 4. I would always give out my best towards them. After the project my team and I had to present it as a local news show. I took the responsibility of everything if it was good or if we missed anything. It felt good because I learned from it.

Today I went to a glo club that my friend invited me. It is a club where you talk about god and you gain a healthy  relationship with him. Today was my first day and I  liked it the leaders were super nice.

My masterpiece is progressing very well. I am currently making the power point. I just have to gather the information and put them in order.

Yesterday I celebrated cinco de Mayo. I celebrate it because Mexico winning the battle of Puebla. Since my family this year did not do anything i went to.a party with my friends. We danced, eat, and shared laughters.

Ending of Brave New World

Brave new world was a very complex novel to read. It was also very fascinating on how the author organized it. The novel, Brave New World was written by Aldous Huxley. It is a dystopian novel published in 1932. This book is very futuristic and uses science to be stabilized.Brave new world human society is divided by 5 categories. The categories are alphas, betas, gammas, delta, and epsilons. The highest society are alphas and the lowest are epsilons. There are also 5 main characters. The characters are John, Bernard, Mustapha, Lenina, and Helmholtz. They are a huge part of the novel because they represent one of each category.

Bernard questions the inside while trying to behave on the outside. He is struggling in the inside because he doesn’t fit in with the other alphas. He gets left out by the other alphas due to his small stature. Bernard still tries to behave on the outside. He felt like an outsider due to all the mocking of his size. By him behaving like an outsider all he gained was being bitter and discontent. 

The central message of the novel is happiness vs. truth. The book gave a helpful opinion that one cannot receive both happiness and the truth. Mustapha Mond is a perfect character on what the opinion stands for. In chapter 16 it states,”It hasn’t been very good for truth, of course. But it’s been very good for happiness. One can’t have something for nothing. Happiness has got to be paid for.” In the novel the happiness for them is a drug called soma. Soma is used to cure the feeling of unhappiness or when you overthink about a topic. Bernard is a great character for the truth. When Bernard was talking to Lenina about his freedom thoughts, she insisted to take soma. Lenina stated,”Why you don't take soma when you have these dreadful ideas of yours. You'd forget all about them. And instead of feeling miserable, you'd be jolly. So jolly.”  By him behaving as an outsider he gain more knowledge about society and he tried talking to Lenina about it.

In conclusion, although this novel was at first confusing for me I still managed to learn by it. I learned that the characters are basically brainwashed to believe certain truths. The characters are instructed to believe in the value of society and not one another. Each caste has to help the community, so the economy could be stabilized.

My favorite ignite talk has to go to Miguel. He was very enthusiastic and well prepared. He gave a right amount of details and explain pretty well.

I asked my family about my big question. They gave me different lectures to think about. The ending of brave new world was kind of disturbing when John started whipping himself.

My big question is, why does the United States have health insurance?  Over the break I asked different people on their opinion about health insurance. My brother educated me that the United States have it because majority of people who have health insurance are wealthy and the U.S. keeps the money to probably pay off debt. I honestly don’t see any connection with what I read in this course. I am currently looking at websites with pros and cons.

I will ask different people on the reasons why the United States have health insured for only certain persons. I will remember doing my big question  by doing it today or either tomorrow.

I say when you had enough of interacting with people, it is best to keep quiet. Keeping quiet and knowing what to do is the absolute best because no one is bothering your space of thinking. It is best to speak up when you feel lost or confused.

April 16

John is upset that his mom called him Pope. This scene relates to the theme of family by having a major feeling of sadness and terror when someone in your family passed away. His own mom died in front of him. The children were there to basically bully Linda. They were calling disgusting names. Also because John was beating them up. Mostly because the children are dying.There respond was that death is scary.

Why does United States have health insurance on certain amount of people?
-Canada and France do but pay for health insurance

Many people dislike tax day. Some people probably do not like this day because people love their own money and do not like giving back. Others say it’s because they do not know where exactly their own money is going towards to. They think that their money is better safe with them than the government having control over it.

April 12

The month April personality would be joyful. I say it’s joyful because students have a week off for spring break. The sun is coming out and the weather is mostly sunny. Kids and parents are happier. It is literally 2 months before summer.

April 10

Many people like brain teasers because they love to think of various options what the answers might be. I personally don’t like brain teasers because my head starts throbbing. Like I will think about it for a second and then I will get frustrated. I need to know the answer.

April 8

So today I turned in my history project. It was about the timeline of the Cold War. I love history, so I took things into my own hands. Instead of using a crappy paper, I used part of a cardboard box. I drew all the images on it, spelled out Cold War: timeline with stickers, & put in the information in order. I was so excited and happy doing this project. Honestly I rather do a history project than a chemistry one. The excitement is not there when I do other projects.
